Auxiliary equipment for packaging lines

Outfeed conveyor

An outfeed conveyor is an auxiliary unit for transferring finished packaging or containers from the outlet of packaging equipment to the next operation or an accumulation area. The configuration is agreed around package geometry, the outlet height of the main machine, discharge direction and the position of the next unit.

  • Removing finished packaging from the working area
  • Transfer to the next operation or accumulation
  • Layout matched to the outlet of the main packaging machine
Outfeed conveyor

Transferring finished packaging after the packaging unit

The outfeed conveyor is installed after a packaging operation when a finished bag or container needs to be transferred in an organised way to the next process step. The next point may be another technological operation or an accumulation area; the required configuration is selected around the actual outlet of the main machine.

  • the bag, container or other finished package leaving the main machine;
  • where the product needs to go after packaging;
  • the outlet height and discharge direction required on the line.

Parameters depend on the actual line layout

Section length, working surface, speed and other parameters should not be specified separately from the production layout. Selection considers the size and position of the finished package, machine outlet height, available space and requirements of the next operation.

  • geometry and position of the finished package;
  • packaging-machine outlet height and available space;
  • direction, next unit and required discharge rate.
